Jumping Horse, pencil on paper, 1986

I moved a few years ago and rediscovered some old sketchpads. A friend
of mine wanted to see my work so I scanned a few drawings for her. She is
an aspiring artist who doesn't think she is very talented (heh). She began to
draw in her twenties. I started when I was a child, but the progression is the
same. I wanted her to see how art grows over the years. I was 12 when I drew
this. I spent much of my childhood surrounded by horses. My favorite horse back
then was a thoroughbred named Snowball. He was, ironically, not a very good jumper.
